Take Action with Creation Justice Ministries This May!

Check out these different ways for you and your congregation to get involved. Come back every month for new ways to take action!
Take Action this Month
Protect Endangered Species
This May we honor God’s creation by raising awareness for endangered species on Endangered Species Day. From the gray wolf to the North Atlantic right whale, the time to act is now.  We are at a tipping point and if change does not come swiftly, we may not see some of these species survive this century. Can you imagine a world where future generations never have the chance to see a grizzly bear lounging in the sun, or a monarch butterfly flying from flower to flower? Humans cannot replace or recreate God’s handiwork, and it is our duty to nurture and recover species whose very existence we have put at risk.

We encourage you to share with your congregation, your community, and your family or friends our evergreen Endangered Species Day bulletin insert.

Call on congress to commit to zero climate pollution in the electricity sector by 2035 & economy-wide by 2050
In addition to downloading the educational resource another great way to protect endangered species and God's creation is to support clean energy infrastructure.
Take action today by sending an email your senators and representatives to enact infrastructure and energy legislation that will promote climate, economic, gender, and racial justice to accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy. We also call on Congress to commit to reaching zero climate pollution in the electricity sector by 2035 and economy-wide by 2050.

Internationally, we are urging Congress to provide funding to help low-income countries access electricity powered by renewable energy, adapt to climate change, promote biodiversity and curb deforestation. Take action now!

This action was part of the 2021 Ecumenical Advocacy Days Conference
