AGRICULTURE AND CLIMATE CHANGE
Agriculture and food are core ways that we engage our faith in our daily practices. Yet, our food system is having a negative impact on our planet through climate change and in return climate change is having a negative impact on our food system. As Christians, how should we respond? What are we called to do?
WOMEN AND CLIMATE IN THE UNITED STATES
Globally, it is recognized the harm that women experience as a result of climate-induced natural disasters and increased temperatures. However, little attention has been given to how climate-induced shocks have an impact on women in the United States.
ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE
Environmental Justice seeks to comprehensively address environmental and health inequities that under-resourced communities face on a daily basis. This often has a negative impact on low-income and/or BIPOC communities in urban and rural areas. I can discuss the ways in which communities experience environmental justice and how churches and communities of faith can respond through advocacy.
EXTREME HEAT AND HOW CHURCHES CAN RESPONSE
As climate change worsens, communities across the U.S. continue to experience extreme heat. Experiencing such high temperatures can be dangerous to human health. BIPOC communities experience extreme heat-related illnesses at the worst rates. I can give a talk on this issue and how churches can respond in their local communities, as well as call for systemic changes.
