Naomi François is a Third-Year MDiv Student at Duke Divinity School, where her concentrations, though plentiful, are intentional. She is concentrating in Black Church Studies, Baptist Church Studies, Christian Education, and Food, Faith, and Environmental Justice. She was born in New York City and lived there with her Haitian-American family until heading off to undergrad at Williams College. After graduating from Williams, Naomi earned an MA in Religion from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and then proceeded to teach High School English in Georgia and New Jersey. Naomi has shifted her passion for teaching to the church. She hopes to help churches revitalize their Christian Education programs to form biblically literate, creation-minded, Jesus followers. She enjoys singing and dancing in her free time. She also has a vested interest in reading historical fiction from authors of color, and her Kindle library is rapidly filling as a result. Her husband, Philemon, does not share this passion, but she finds him delightful anyway.
