Marissa Salgado has a background in faith based community development, spending the last decade living and working alongside refugee and migrant communities and building bridges between the church and marginalized groups for the sake of holistic, mutual care and reconciliation. Marissa joins CJM from Point Loma Nazarene University’s Center for Justice and Reconciliation where she mentored students through justice initiatives. Prior to that, she spent seven years at Casa Chirilagua, a Christian community ministry in a primarily immigrant neighborhood in Alexandria, VA. She specializes in program design, justice-rooted leadership development, and equipping communities for transformative ministry. She earned her BA in International Affairs from The George Washington University and is currently pursuing an MDiv through Fuller Seminary’s Centro Latino. Marissa lives in San Diego, where she enjoys ocean swimming, hiking, and reading with a good cup of coffee. She is excited to contribute to Creation Justice Ministries’ mission of faith-rooted justice and restoration.
